Barrie Winterfest & Festival of Ice
Blue skies crowned the festivities of this years Winterfest & Festival of Ice. This weekend celebration of the winter season was named one of the Top 100 Festivals in Ontario! Heritage Park hosted outdoor adventures galore with a theme park and activities for the whole family to enjoy. The fun included helicopter tours, horse-drawn wagon rides, dogsled rides, a mini-tube run, lumberjack shows, a giant snow slide, an ice maze, and more! The Festival of Ice featured a 300 pound block of ice carved into a spectacular Olympic themed sculpture and slide. Hundreds lined up for 'kid cubes' excited for the gold medal gift at the heart of these mini ice sculptures! The surrounding community joined in the winter excitement as neighbouring businesses and art venues hosted events including the Easter Seals Chilifest, Blues Festival, Reel Stories and Mardi Gras themed fun!
