Run 4 Haiti!
There are 2864 kms between Barrie and Haiti and Alex Ikonikov decided to try to cover that distance as a gesture of support for the Haitian people. Alex started at 10am on February 13th and began running a marathon on a 5 km course around Kempenfelt Bay. Alex was inviting the community to join in by either walking or running any distance they would like and try to raise $5 for every km they cover and donate it to this cause. With that goal in mind they were hoping to raise over $18,000 with all the funds being donated to ONEXONE, a charity which is providing supplies (particularly water and medical needs) to the people of Haiti. SNAP would like to congratulate Alex, his wife and their volunteers for this tremendous effort to help the people of Haiti!
